Hello everyone! It is your incredibly scatter-brained Pegasus Evangelista! Well, okay, it's mostly that I was getting married and having been involved in a move and stuff. But I'm here now to remind you that Pegasus Nominations close in a week! Once it is July 25th in California, it's too late!

| Closing date? |
[06 Jul 2011|02:40pm] |
At http://www.ovff.org/pegasus/2011nomballot.html it says:
Ballots submitted using this form must be submitted by 12:01AM PDT, July 25, 2011 (that means the first minute after July ends on the West coast of the US, not the end of the first day of August).
What's the correct closing date please?

| Pegasus Voting Closing Soon |
[17 Oct 2010|01:42pm] |
Hello!
I wanted to remind people that online voting for the Pegasus Awards closes very soon! You have through the end of Monday to vote; once it's Tuesday in California, the only way to vote is to come to OVFF! (Of course, I'm always happy to see people at OVFF, so I don't object to that.)
The ballot is here. I can't tell you to vote early and often but, uh, vote at the last minute and once? Hmm, that loses something. Ah, well - you know what I mean. If you wish to vote, you're running out of time.
Thanks for your attention and I look forward to seeing some of you at OVFF!
All the best,
Erica Neely Pegasus Evangelista

I've been meaning to post this for a while, but life (and small children) slow things down. But finally, here's the current issue of Wing Words, just in time to start putting together the next one. ( Wing Words inside )

| Pegasus Nominations Closing Soon |
[29 Jul 2010|10:42pm] |
Hello everyone!
It's almost the end of July, which means you only have another couple of days to get your nomination ballots in for this year's Pegasus awards!
As a reminder, our floating categories are Best Magic Song and Best Mad Science Song, in addition to the usual Best Filk Song, Best Classic Filk Song, Best Writer/Composer, and Best Performer categories. Want some ideas to spark your thoughts? Take a look at the Brainstorming Poll Results!
If you haven't nominated and wish to, the ballot closes at soon as it's August in California. So at 12:01 a.m. Pacific Time on August 1st it will be too late!
Thanks for your nominations!

| Eligibility Ruling: Juliane Honisch |
[07 Jul 2010|06:25pm] |
A question has been raised by email and in a thread elsewhere on LJ, so I wanted to address the question of Juliane Honisch's eligibility in the category of Best Writer/Composer.
The Pegasus Committee has ruled that she is, indeed, eligible this year. Essentially, when you have someone who is a joint-nominee in a category, we do not penalize that person unless they have basically no solo identity. However, what she writes solo is sufficiently different than what she writes with Kerstin. (Admittedly, in the US we tend to see her more performing jointly and joint material, but that is not Juliane's fault.)
We made a similar ruling by not penalizing people in the N'Early Music Consort and by distinguishing Playing Rapunzel from Mich Sampson solo or Marilisa Valtazanou. Similarly, I would not consider a performance nomination for Lady Mondegreen to be the same as a performance nomination for Merav Hoffman; there is sufficient difference to make it distinct.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!

| 2010 Pegasus Awards |
[25 Jun 2010|04:43pm] |
The paper version of the brainstorming results and nominating ballot went out at Marcon; it's almost a month later and we still have nothing on the web page. While we're waiting for that to get cleared up, I offer you another option. You may email me your ballot to pegasus (at) polymaths (dot) com. If you do not receive a reply, I did not receive your ballot. However, as I am a real person, I may not reply instantaneously - give me enough time to actually check please!
You may nominate up to 5 people/songs in each category. You may only submit one nominating ballot (well, you can sumbit as many as you like, but only one will count.) Nominations close at the end of July. Once it is August in California, it's too late.
The categories for this year's pegasus awards are:
Best Filk Song Best Classic Filk Song Best Mad Science Song Best Magic Song Best Performer Best Composer
The full results of the brainstorming poll are under the cut. No, they're not formatted great - hopefully when they arrive on the website they'll be better. Yes, there may be mistakes in it; again, those will hopefully be corrected on the website.
( The long unpretty results of the brainstorming )
I thank you for your patience.

| Brainstorming Poll Closes Soon |
[30 Apr 2010|01:46pm] |
As madfilkentist pointed out, the Pegasus award brainstorming poll closes very soon. If you haven't brainstormed your last few ideas, today's the last day to do it!
I apologize for the lack of reminders about this; the Pegasus committee has had a lot of real life this spring. I'll try to keep on top of things better.
